We had talked about Colorado and the wide open spaces, especially in western Colorado with villages like Aspen and Vail that are smaller communities, yet a real culture and population.  </p>
<p>Flying into Grand Junction we headed east on Interstate 70 to check out Aspen and Vail.  It was late morning when we drove into Glenwood Springs and decided this would be a nice place to stop over and then decide on Aspen or Vail in the morning.   We decided to rest at the historic Hotel Colorado and once we were checked in we wanted to discover what Glenwood Springs gave us to see.  The concierge recommended some nice shops to visit, but when we asked about fine dining he suggested it depends on the cuisine you want to enjoy.  Being in Colorado I wanted a nice steak, but my wife wanted seafood like in California.  I explained to her the closest ocean was many miles distant, so the seafood would never be as fresh as we could get at home, but she demanded.  So his recommendation was a quaint restaurant directly across the foot bridge called Juicy Lucy&rsquo;s Steakhouse where we could have the best of both worlds.   </p>
<p>After visiting several small stores we found <b>Juicy Lucy&rsquo;s Steakhouse</b> and after a brief wait at the historic bar we were shown our table.  As I read the menu I saw the perfect meal for me, Colorado Elk Sirloin. All natural grilled elk sirloin shaved and served on saut&eacute;ed portabella mushrooms, but I wassurprised by the {fish|seafood|fresh catch| selections on the menu.   I was even more impressed by their daily specials such as; Broiled Sea Scallops stuffed with Alaskan King Crab or Fresh fish Mequite Grilled over the BBQ.   I had to ask about the freshness and quality since it was certain the nearest real water was many miles away.  He  they only purchase the best ingredients and the fish is flown in daily six days a week.   My wife selected the Sea Scallops and I will tell you this if you had no idea you were in {the rocky mountains|Colorado|dry regions of the country| you would think you were eating in a seafood restaurant near the cost. </p>
<p>For our next days excursions we decided on Carbondale, and fell in love with the small villages from Glenwood Springs to Aspen.  Here we could ski in the winter, fly fish in the summer, hike, bike and be by ourselves, or go to a play or concert almost any night.   We found our paradise and knowing that no matter where we settled in the area we were only a small distance away from the freshest seafood in the middle of the Rocky Mountains.   Who would have thought that a dining area named Juicy Lucy&rsquo;s Steakhouse would help us make one of the best choices ever.  </p>

On the contrary, the Hokies begin the season with Four OOC opponents from &lsquo;mid-major&rsquo; conferences, including the games against East Carolina, Arkansas State, Marshall, along with a Div I-AA team Appalachian State.  Despite being I-AA, Appalachian State is a great program who has conpeted for many current national championships.</p>
<p>After those four starting games, the Hokies get into ACC action full swing for the rest of the season.  This year, Virginia Tech has home games against Clemson, Miami, Boston College, and North Carolina (UNC).  Certainly <a href="http://www.virginiatechfan.com/virginia-tech-tickets/virginia-tech-football-tickets/virginia-tech-vs-clemson-football-ticket/" target='_blank'>Virginia Tech vs Clemson football tickets</a> likely will be high in demand.  They are on the road in the ACC against Wake Forest, Duke, Georgia Tech, and Virginia (UVa). A closer look discloses some fascinating findings.</p>

<p>Lastly, while there is no big early season OOC match-up, you will see some big Television games for Virginia Tech this year.
